Training

NextSTEPS Workshops

Planned for two full days of hands-on activities. Moving from:

  • analyzing assessment data
  • forming small groups for systematic and explicit instruction,
  • identifying which of the BIG 5 Components to teach,
  • learning (or reviewing) HOW to teach the reading components, and
  • integrating all 5 components together into the total reading process.

Teachers are encouraged to bring their own core reading text to the workshop in order to integrate what they learn in the workshop into the daily practice they utilize in their classrooms.

Workshop participants will need a copy of the book, Next STEPS in Literacy Instruction for the workshop. Contact Brookes Publishing (www.brookespublishing.com) to order and inquire about discount prices for bulk orders.
